Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) lost 5-1 to David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 25 - 27, 2016 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Brewster won 5-3 over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2016 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland; and won 9-3 over Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland;
 
Brewster finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster defeated Juraj Gallo (Martin, SVK) 7-2, then won 7-2 against Cameron Bryce (Edinburgh, SCO) and 5-2 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS). Brewster won 8-4 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, Brewster take home 28.190 world rankings points along with the $5,619CDN prize. Brewster move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 16.856 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 18th overall with 283.582 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
