Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) qualified for the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-4 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;

Laycock finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Todd Birr (Blaine, MN) 3-0, then won 7-6 against Colin Koivula (Thunder Bay, NONT) and 5-3 against Craig Brown (Blaine, USA). Laycock won 6-2 against Alex Forrest (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
