In their opening game, Erickson lost 6-2 to Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 5-3 win over Sean Geall (New Westminster , BC). Erickson went on to lose 5-2 against Markus Hoiberg (Oppdal, NOR). Erickson lost 6-2 to Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Erickson earned 1.036 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 102nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 21.686 total points. Erickson ranks 109th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.764 points earned so far this season.
