Zang lost 5-4 to John Epping (Toronto, ON) where Zang responded with a 7-2 win over Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Zang earned 2.921 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 25th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 76.820 total points. Zang ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.889 points earned so far this season.
