Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) won 5-1 over Alberta's Shane Park in the Final of the Avonair Cash Spiel, held October 4 - 6, 2013 at the Avonair Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Appelman won 5-2 over Lloyd Hill (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2013 Avonair Cash Spiel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 7-1 over Dale Fellows (Spruce Grove, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Appelman finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Appelman defeated Curtis Harrish (Calmar, AB) 6-3, then won 4-3 against Rob Maksymetz (Grande Prairie, AB) and 9-6 against Mark Johnson (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Avonair Cash Spiel Championship title, Appelman earned 3.250 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 33 spots the World Ranking Standings into 101st place overall with 8.608 total points. Appelman ranks 66th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.250 points earned so far this season.
