Sweeting finished 2-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweeting defeated Holly Whyte (Grande Prairie, AB) 4-3, then won 6-2 against Leslie Rogers (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
