To advance to the championship game, King won 8-2 over Neil Dangerfield (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the 2012 Valley First Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-4 over Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Valley First Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;
 
King finished 4-1 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King lost 6-5 to Tyler Klymchuk (Vancouver, BC), then responded with a 8-2 win over Brent Yamada (Kamloops, BC). King won 7-3 against Chang-Min Kim (Gyeongbuk Uiseong, KOR), then won 7-2 against Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE) and 7-0 against Steve Waatainen (Nanaimo, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Valley First Crown of Curling, King take home 3.850 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 38th place overall with 34.138 total points. King ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 23.695 points earned so far this season.
