In their opening game, Desjardins lost 6-2 to Simon Dupuis (Thurso, PQ), then responded with a 9-6 win over Pierre Gervais (Trois-Rivieres, PQ). Desjardins won 8-6 against Jean-Michel Menard (Quebec, PQ), then won 8-6 against Steeve Gagnon (Saguenay, PQ) and 7-4 against Francois Gagne (Montreal, PQ) in their final qualifying round match.
