In their opening game, McWilliam defeated Andy Cameron (Aberdeen, SCO) 11-1, then went on to lose 8-5 against Lee McCleary (Kinross, SCO). McWilliam responded with a 8-5 win over Scotland's Iain Watt. McWilliam won 10-5 against Scotland's Alan Gillies. McWilliam went on to lose 8-3 against Duncan Fernie (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
