Stephen Kopf (New Westminster, BC) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kopf lost 7-2 to Rick Folk (Kamloops, BC), droppimg another game, 7-5 to Dave Merklinger (Vernon, BC) where Kopf responded with a 9-2 win over Tobin Senum (Vernon, BC). Kopf went on to lose 8-2 against Merklinger in their final qualifying round match.
