Matchett went on to lose 6-1 against Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC). Matchett responded with a 6-3 win over British Columbia's Bryan Kedziora. Matchett won 6-3 against Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB). Matchett went on to lose 6-5 against Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
