Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) won 6-4 over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the AMJ Masters, held September 23 - 28 in London, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Dunstone won 6-5 over Brad Jacobs (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario; and won 6-3 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR) in the quarterfinals. of the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario;
Dunstone finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dunstone defeated Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) 6-4, then won 6-3 against Ramsfjell and 7-3 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Dunstone went on to lose 8-6 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneva, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the AMJ Masters Championship title, Dunstone earned 75.000 world rankings points along with the $32,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 345.113 total points. Dunstone ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 80.175 points earned so far this season.
