Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS) lost 8-5 to Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Ocean Contractors Nova Scotia Mens Curling Championship, held January 14 - 19, 2025 at the Halifax Curling Club in Halifax, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 11-4 over Calan MacIssac (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2025 Ocean Contractors Nova Scotia Mens Curling Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada;

Thompson finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson lost 8-4 to Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 11-9 win over Nicholas Deagle (Halifax, NS). Thompson went on to lose 9-6 against MacIssac. Thompson responded with a 6-4 win over Purcell. Thompson won 10-4 against Paul Flemming (Halifax, NS), then won 10-6 against Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) and 9-1 against Colten Steele (Dartmouth, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Ocean Contractors Nova Scotia Mens Curling Championship, Thompson take home 5.500 world rankings points, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 86th place overall with 32.067 total points. Thompson ranks 79th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 26.750 points earned so far this season.
