Brad Jacobs (Edmonton, AB) lost 5-4 to Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the WFG Masters, held January 14 - 19 in Guelph, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 7-5 over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals of the WFG Masters in Guelph, Ontario; and won 7-4 over Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER) in the quarterfinals.
Jacobs finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated John Epping (Sudbury, NO) 5-3, then won 10-4 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) and 7-4 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Jacobs won 7-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad , SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the WFG Masters, Jacobs take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $34,000CDN prize. Jacobs move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 38.5 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 3rd overall with 359.438 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Jacobs ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 267.750 points earned so far this season.
