In their opening game, McEwen defeated Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) 7-2, then won 5-2 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) and 4-3 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). McEwen won 8-1 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McEwen earned 42.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the KIOTI National, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12.75 after improving upon their best so far this season.
