Cotter/Cotter won 7-3 against Amanda Sluchinski/Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB), then won 6-5 against Marlee Powers/Luke Saunders (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship playoffs earned Cotter/Cotter 15.000 world rankings points, remaining in 820th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 10.75 after improving upon their best so far this season. Cotter/Cotter ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 94.376 points earned so far this season.
