Whyte finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte lost 5-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), then responded with a 7-5 win over Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS). Whyte won 7-4 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB), then won 4-2 against Bottcher in their final qualifying round match.
 
Whyte earned 30.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the KIOTI National. Whyte move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 0.63999999999999 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 7th overall with 301.937 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Whyte ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 184.500 points earned so far this season.
