To advance to the championship game, McDonald won 8-7 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Mother Club Fall Curling Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

McDonald finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Corey Chambers (Winnipeg, MB) 6-5, then won 11-3 against Steen Sigurdson (Winnipeg, MB) and 7-3 against Calvert. McDonald went on to lose 6-5 against Jordan Peters (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Mother Club Fall Curling Classic, McDonald take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $1,400CDN prize. For week 7 of the event schedule, McDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McDonald ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
