Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) lost 5-4 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Boost National, held October 4 - 9, 2022 in North Bay, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 4-3 over Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Boost National in North Bay, Ontario; and won 9-1 over Colton Flasch (Saskatoon , SK) in the quarterfinals.
 
Edin finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) 4-1, then won 7-6 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-5 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO). Edin won 9-5 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Boost National, Edin take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $20,000CDN prize, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -5.147 after improving upon their best so far this season. Edin ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 133.750 points earned so far this season.
