Min Ji Kim (Chuncheon, KOR) lost 7-5 to Mackenzie Zacharias (Altona, CAN) in the Final of the World Junior Womens Championship, held February 15 - 22, 2020 in Krasnayorsk, Russia. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 8-4 over Minori Suzuki (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals
 
Kim finished 9-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Evelina Barone (Riga, LAT) 9-3, then won 7-1 against Linda Joo (Budapest, HUN) and 7-1 against Mathilde Halse (Hvidovre, DEN). Kim won 10-5 against Emma Moberg (Mjolby, SWE), then won 8-3 against Selina Witschonke (Luzern, SUI) and 9-3 against Maia Ramsfjell (Lillehammer, NOR). Kim won 8-1 against Vlada Rumiantseva (Moscow, RUS), then won 7-5 against Suzuki and 7-1 against Zacharias in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the World Junior Womens Championship, Kim take home 24.453 world rankings points. For week 31 of the event schedule, Kim did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kim ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
