To advance to the championship game, Edin won 6-4 over Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2018 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland; and won 1-0 over Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP) in the quarterfinals.
 
Edin finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Klaudius Harsch (Fuessen, GER) 7-5, then won 8-3 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) and 6-5 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Edin won 5-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
