Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) lost 9-4 to Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) in the Final of the KW Fall Classic, held September 20 - 23, 2018 at the K-W Granite Club in Waterloo, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Ainsley won 7-1 over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 KW Fall Classic in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-4 over 's Richard Krell in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 KW Fall Classic in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada;
 
Ainsley finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ainsley defeated 's Ian Dickie 7-5, then won 7-4 against Paul Moffatt (Waterloo, ON). Ainsley went on to lose 7-1 against Ferris. Ainsley responded with a 9-6 win over Dave Ellis (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the KW Fall Classic, Ainsley take home 16.570 world rankings points along with the $1,400CDN prize, moving up 120 spots the World Ranking Standings into 130th place overall with 22.903 total points. Ainsley ranks 31st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.163 points earned so far this season.
