Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO) won 4-3 over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Boost National, held December 11 - 16, 2018 in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador. To advance to the championship game, Paterson won 7-6 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishe, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 Boost National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador; and won 7-4 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Boost National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador;
 
Paterson finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paterson defeated Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) 8-5, then went on to lose 8-1 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Paterson lost 7-1 to Mouat where Paterson responded with a 6-3 win over Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Boost National Championship title, Paterson earned 86.636 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque. Paterson move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 69.252 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 324.275 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Paterson ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 254.739 points earned so far this season.
