Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) lost 7-5 to Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Canad Inns Men's Classic, held October 12 - 15, 2018 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage La Prairie, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Koe won 4-3 over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Canad Inns Men's Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-4 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishe, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Koe finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Kelly Marnoch (Portage la Prairie, MB) 9-1, then won 7-1 against Charley Thomas (Toronto, ON) and 9-5 against Daniel Wenzek (Langley, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Canad Inns Men's Classic, Koe take home 50.875 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN prize, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 466.924 total points. Koe ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 142.830 points earned so far this season.
