Smith responded with a 8-5 win over Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA). Smith went on to lose 7-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Smith lost 7-5 to Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the CCT EURONICS European Masters Championship title, Smith earned 32.157 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 12th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 8.065 after improving upon their best so far this season. Smith ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 317.192 points earned so far this season.
