Edin responded with a 6-3 win over Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Swiss Cup Basel Championship title, Edin earned 51.321 world rankings points along with the $18,867CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 458.218 total points.
