Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) lost 7-2 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Swiss Cup Basel, held October 1 - 4, 2015 in Basel, Switzerland. To advance to the championship game, van Dorp won 6-5 over Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in the semifinals of the 2015 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland; and won 6-4 over Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
 
van Dorp finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, van Dorp defeated Marc Suter (Aarau, SUI) 8-2, then won 8-5 against Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) and 7-5 against Rasmus Wrana (Harnosand, SWE). van Dorp went on to lose 7-6 against Michel. van Dorp responded with a 8-6 win over Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE). van Dorp went on to lose 9-1 against Gushue. van Dorp responded with a 4-3 win over Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Swiss Cup Basel, van Dorp take home 40.777 world rankings points along with the $9,474CDN prize, moving up 139 spots the World Ranking Standings into 54th place overall with 45.825 total points. van Dorp ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.787 points earned so far this season.
