Gushue went on to lose 8-1 against Eriksson. Gushue responded with a 6-5 win over Korea's Soo-Hyuk Kim in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the The Syncrude National, Gushue take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN prize, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 171.980 points earned so far this season.
