Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) qualified for the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Switzerland's Thomas Lips. of the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland;
 
Brewster finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster lost 5-3 to Switzerland's Pascal Eicher, then responded with a 6-3 win over Switzerland's Alexander Attinger. Brewster won 7-4 against Hungary's Gyeorgy Nagy, then won 4-3 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) and 6-5 against Jean-Nicolas Longchamp (Zurich, SUI). Brewster won 7-2 against Sweden's Per Carlsen in their final qualifying round match.
 
Brewster earned 8.640 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Swiss Cup Basel, moving up 16 spots the World Ranking Standings into 48th place overall with 28.625 total points. Brewster ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.080 points earned so far this season.
