Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) 6-5, then went on to lose 7-2 against Randy Ferbey (St. Johns, NL). Higgs lost 7-6 to Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB). Higgs lost 7-6 to Kevin Park (Winnipeg, MB) where Higgs responded with a 9-2 win over Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
