Gushue went on to lose 4-1 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). Gushue responded with a 6-2 win over David Murdoch (Scotland, UK). Gushue won 9-4 against Ulrik Schmidt (Copenhagen, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 22.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the World Cup of Curling.
