Dave Manser (Lethbridge, AB) finished 2-3 in the 27-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Manser defeated Rob Krepps (Edmonton, AB) 8-5, then went on to lose 8-4 against Steve Mackey (Calgary, AB). Manser lost 7-6 to Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) where Manser responded with a 7-0 win over Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB). Manser went on to lose 5-4 against Jeff Erickson (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Manser did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Manser ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
