World Seniors

I think its FANTASTIC that our senior teams are having great success in Scotland. Keep it going ladies and gentlemen.

But I'll also admit it bugs the hell out of me that USCA is basking in their success when as an organization they don't provide ANY support money to our senior teams.

I said if before on a separate thread, no team USA of any kind should ever have to fund its own way to worlds by bake sales and donations of friends.

If the USCA wants to share in the success, they need to share in the funding.

Huh....

The World teams that the HPP doesn't touch are both in the Playoffs with top of the table results, whereas the World teams that the "Shut up and Trust us, we know what we're doing" HPP staff micromanaged ended up middle of the pack or worse.

Very, very peculiar that...

Go Teams USA!

Kind of fun to criticize USCA for being on the band wagon for US senior curlers. But I suspect USCA would be criticized even more if they did not do that. Whether or not USCA thinks they have $$ to support USA curlers, they should still be following them at world level and keeping curlers apprised of their progress.
Don't think we can compare/contrast success at seniors with lack of that under HPP. Just watch a few ends of the seniors and it is pretty obvious that this is a far cry from the competition at other world events. Lots of older folks, like myself, who love the game but really not a lot of great curling. A better comparison might be to USA playdowns competition 20-30 years ago --- some teams clearly belong, others clearly do not, but all of them are having fun.
