BC look completely lost...& Ontario brought in their 5th to play 10. BC might be in relegation if they don't win a few more.

Watch out for Mary Anne tomorrow, though. Her entire Scotties will be her match with Manitoba - the last member of the infamous Coco Jones Gang - trying to TKO Jones again!

Not to worry, looks like Val is back in control. NL no match for a TC out to prove something, Mary Anne needs her team to help out a bit more if she wants to beat the ML favourites...

5 down after 9 & BC still didn't want to concede to ON this afternoon.

I don't know about Mary-Anne not being into the games... She seems to be invested, just missing a few shots.

Speaking of her, Nice to see TSN is featuring her again tomorrow morning for NS vs MB

Don't forget it was a suggestion and Homan still had the final call. AND the called shot was full 8 half buried which would have made the runback much much harder than the straight runback. As it was, the double run and roll over to tap shot 2 was not Jones' call either, just a fortunate outcome.

she is invested, its clear to see. did you not notice how disappointed she was after she was heavy on her final draw last night?

I wouldn't say heavy but it was overswept. There was conflicting yeses & no's from both ends. Had the sweepers let up a bit sooner, it would have been perfect.

Thanks! In the 9th, even if Jones is not sure of being shot (say 50% chance of winning the measure) isn't the draw for 1 or 2 still the percentage call? I assume the draw is made 90% of the time, which requires the double to be made with a high percentage to come out even in WE.

Here's the deal. Mary Anne basically handed Stef Lawton the game. A pure donation pure and simple.

Lawton was shot stone on a loaded button - the only place Arsenault couldn't put the rock was where it end up. The smart play was preventative dentistry that enabled her to go an extra end - WITH LAST ROCK.

So the play was either house-biter guarding the button (forcing Lawton wide) or dragging it to a Top 4 position.

MAA either doesn't have brushers who can judge weight (or her 3rd and herself can't play safe)

She would have been better off boarding her last rock than putting it where it was. Lawton would have had to draw a piece of the button to win it - the way Stef was drawing she probably has at least a 70% chance of making it (her sweepers know how to judge weight and so does Sherry Anderson)

So many trips to the show for Mary Anne - both as a front-ender and skip - you'd think she'd know what to do!

However, I have a feeling she'll put her heart 'n soul into the Jones game this a.m. - if Jones goes anywhere near "out of sorts" mode Mary Anne could pull off a giant upset.

ease off mary anne. im sure she more than anyone knew she couldnt have put it in a worse spot. as curlerboroad said though it was more a sweeping error than her error.

That was a sweeping error. MaryAnne seemed pretty ticked with her frontend after the shot, and they knew it.

From my view I never saw a chance at scoring three. It seemed that to make the double, Jennifer would roll her shooter out of play and score two anyway. In that case, she needs to make the hit the same, or more often than the draw to the eight foot. Unless ice conditions were a problem, the draw is the right call.

Also not sure what Jennifer was thinking earlier in the end, creating piles of rocks in the centre behind cover. Dumbfounding when you are tied with hammer in the 9th end.

I think there's a provision that says every rink gets at least one TV game. That used to mean that you'd see the Territories on Sunday morning.

Great to see the bluenosers upset the favs from Manitoba. Maybe that'll quiet Russ and Vic up about how bad Maritimers are at curling for a day.

Agree the coverage is great and appreciated but enough of the arena vs club ice and how it comes into play on every second shot. Enough already.

It makes it more entertaining as well more competition instead of three teams dominating the tournament. I like Homan but I hope NS puts up another good fight.

She keeps turning in 70% games and she might be hard pressed to make the page - that's the kind of percentages the newbies like Loren Mann and Patti Knezevic and New Brunwick are putting in. I definitely don't see her slithering by Valberta with this kind of curling!!!

Was watching the game with the lady the other day and she asked if Jones was knocked up. I feel like Women in general have a 6th sense when it comes to this type of thing

Haven't heard anything but the timing would be right w/ the Oly's a few years away still

i agree, its great to see team step up, take their chances and get a huge win. Nova scotia could easily be 5-3 right now. they had tight games against saskatchewan and pei that they could have won. the difference here was that they took their chances

i think that we will see teams at the bottom, desperate to avoid relegation pull off some upsets on unsuspecting top teams toward the end. so teams that have their eyes on the playoffs might have to watch out for teams like new brunswick, BC and quebec now
