Men's Club Team Looking for a Player - BC
Hey all,
I've got a team playing in the Lower Mainland at the Marpole CC this fall on Wednesday night's... and we're short a player (the guy we had penciled has injured himself and won't be able to play this season).
This is mostly a social team, but we all have competed in provincial playdowns, cashpiels and competitive cash leagues and so on... so I'd like to think we're somewhere between good club curlers and decent competitive ones. Our intention is to make a run for the Club Challenge... but the idea is to have fun first.
We're looking to add someone, either at lead/second/third, to the mix (our skip is set, but myself and our other player are willing to shift around). We would prefer someone with some abilities, but.. hey if you're interested, it doesn't hurt to let me know.
If you're not familiar with Marpole CC... it's in South Vancouver. Probably one of the more social clubs around... decent men's league (two draws, 4 boxes, around 20-24 teams) and has had some great ice the last couple of seasons.
If you're interested, drop me a line here, or PM me, and we can chat. Cheers!

What day and time are the league games?
I play Wednesday on New West and weekends on NSWC...
I would have no problem to go to Marpole on weekdays in the evenings.

You have to enable it under the "My Settings" at the top of the page, and then click on "Edit Options". Right now it says you have PMs marked as private and disabled.
If it doesn't work, post again, and I'll post up my email address for a bit.
(I loathe spam, which is why I generally don't post my email address!)

I can't post a PM yet [I assume my registration needs to be approved or some such] but I'd be interested in chatting with you about it too. If you are able to send me a PM [not sure if I can receive them or not] you can give me your email and I'll get back to you ASAP.

I'm not sure how this thread was brought back from the dead... but as it stands now we don't need a player for the rest of the season.
That being said, if you're interested in playing and want to spare, we can chat. And I'm always open to discussing options for next season...
(And as mentioned earlier in this thread... Please have your settings set so that you can receive PM, and I'll send you my email.)

Just looking for possibilities to get back into the competitive men's scene in BC next season. Generally, I'm looking for two more players who are willing to commit to a season of "getting our foot in the door" kind of season. Play some spiels on the Region 11 tour, enter into zones (and open spiel if need be) and see how things go with future aspirations to get to the next level. I myself have played at that level before and have been frequenting the Region 11 thing with decent success and just want to get back to playing those higher caliber teams and give Provincials a serious go. Looking for front end players mainly, but I am willing to throw any position for the right team, really. Even if a team is out there looking to add someone to their roster, I'm interested in at least talking. Yup, pretty much it. Never know until I ask and put my name out there. Cheers.
