Lawton's team missed 3.5 shots that end - lucky Emma barfed one up to survive to fight an extra end!

They contradicted Howard's call on that shot. Too funny.

Great shot by Schmidt!!!! Now for that 'ugly' medal game for Homan tomorrow. Do they get Cheryl to play tomorrow then turf JoAnne at the end of this season? A few things just didn't click this week for the Homan machine. Hmmm.....

TOUGH TO LOSE GAME in E.E.
but such is championship women's curling.... sure that the home crowd is delighted, Homan fans maybe not so..either way bring on Val and her Alberta rink next game..... for war horse Anderson not bad for 51 years young and still in the game ..for now?

i kind of love it when a player contradicts the commentators when they say shots arent there or that its not a good call and then they make it.

Lawton just got a huge monkey off her back!!!
Yes but with the ridiculous bronze medal game at these things now she is not even assured a medal. We don't need medals at these things.
So just win the next one Stef and crew!

Hopefully Sask. can take out Alberta to have a Manitoba and Saskatchewan final, wouldn't that be great for the home crowd.

it would be great for the home crowd and stef but is val really going to lose 4 in a row?
i hope it happens and i hope stef wins. id like to see how she'd do as team canada
im also really pulling for her in large part because of sherry anderson. id love to see her get to wear canada's colors

Kinda think Sherry Singler may not get her job back. Schmidt is having a spectacular week.

if this line up wins the scotties does stef have to take lana vey as 5th to worlds or could she take sherri singler.
i was just thinking. its kind of funny that everyone on here kind of questioned if stef could make playoffs since she lost her long time second shortly before the event but stephanie has risen to the occasion brilliantly. she's ranked, i think 3rd among 2nds all week and produced the game winning shot in this game here.

The demise of AB has been greatly overstated. 2 of their 3 losses were in games after they wrapped up the 1vs2 game. Coughed up a 4 spot in the first end in the 1vs2 game then battled back to tie the game.
I don't think SK will have the gas to win this semi-final. They just had an incredibly emotional win (in an EE no less) and 1-1.5 hours later they are back on the ice against a rested AB team.

. the blowout loss to saskatchewan makes sense since they wrapped up an emotional win over canada to get a spot in the 1 v.s 2 game the draw before. the blowout loss to manitoba is more concerning since they had time to regroup and focus
think saskatchewan will be fine. they will be pumped up after finally getting through the 3 v.s 4 game and will be fueled by the crowd.

No time for Saskatchewan to have a break after this mornings game. TSN responsible for the scheduling? Curling fans would still watch even if there are multiple hockey games at the same time. Pretty poor on the part of CCA.

Tsn really does not give a rats ass about curling. Hockey is the money maker.
Surely you are not surprised. And all the teams knew the sched months ago.

i feel so bad for stef. winning and she would have had at least silver. now she might finish 4th again

I agree Misty! Alberta has been getting lots of breaks their way this week that's for sure. I wanted Lawton to win so bad that would have been great for her and the fans who have supported her incredibly all week long. It's really too bad

TSN Coverage

Have to agree. When they lost most of the hockey (they still have Jets & Leafs regional rights) they upped their content of hockey panels, Michael "Useless" Landsberg replays, Cabby content, re-plays of replays of NHL hi-lites, two guys playing catch at 3am. Curling makes the schedule as an afterthought - TSN retains full rights to bump the curling whenever they desire.
Sometimes I get a little pissed when they put the curling on one of their channels I don't get but other than that I'm thankful they do carry so many games. I could always get into this century and get digital cable.

I feel bad for Stef Lawton, horrible way to lose. However after all that has happened to Val when J Courtney bailed on her, then Andrea Crawford bailed on her I am delighted for the Sweeting team. Val was classy through the whole debacle , eventually picked a terrific third.
Way to go Val et al!!
