Wow. A Trey. Can Chelsey keep her cool and surf it out? Could get messy. The Big Wave is rolling in to the finish line.

150 to 175 of crowd is Dan Carey and his flock, Vic Peters, McEwens (Mike, Pop Eddy), Laing, eliminated teams and entourages, CCA jock-sniffers and knife 'n forkers, etc.
I think the Canadian Mixed (held in Toronto) had a larger audience at their finals :-)

Very entertaining game
Team AB fully deserved that win..there's a very nice Team Dynamics working for them...
With the strain of playing that huge game out of the way now,
Sat to R & R.. Team AB will be wolverines to beat in the Sunday Final
Krista McCarville should have her batteries recharged by the 3-4 game ...
I know she can match-skip Kerri ..can outdraw her..
but will her team NO pull off the shots needed

Great game by Alberta. They were calm, cool, collected, and basically in charge the whole time. A little bit of luck too, but overall a very well-earned win. If they play like that in the final they're going to be tough to beat.

I think this game was a big confidence booster for Team Alberta. They definitely made a statement tonight. I really like the Carey/Nixon chemistry.

great job by alberta, they played amazing. im expecting it will be a 3rd go between the teams on sunday . certainly would suck for alberta to lose that final after beating jones twice but, to my knowledge only 1 team has ever beaten jones 3 times in the same event and if jen gets there you know she'll bring her A+ game.
as for the 3 v.s 4 game..i can see krista out skipping kerri. in the match up krista has the advantage as a skip both in shot making and experience. however kerri's team has been supporting her more this week and krista does have a past of fading toward the end of a long event. northern ontario can win but krista will need help from her team, she cant expect to win by having to put on a superwoman act. thats what she tried to do in the round robin and it didnt work, manitoba is to good. in the end i think manitoba will be a little more solid
winner: manitoba

Interesting ^^^^ as usual
You mention the word "let down".. should CC face NO or MB
that triggers the question on which team might slip a bit..
Given the week of play all three ( and CA) had their down times
Kerri E had 53% game against CA.. she really loses confidence in her draw game...
just needs more attention to it..
I dont see McCarville holding back on some really tough draws..
the difference in inches will be how poorly or well he team sets it up.
Kendra is starting to show her talent and has gained some good focus.. so...
Chelsey is staying very level-headed.. steadied by Nixon and definitely Lainie..who is the rock on that team ( arent most leads?
Any one of these 4 playoff Teams will make a good TC...

All-stars
First team:
Skip Jennifer Jones, Team Canada (85 per cent)
Third Kaitlyn Lawes, Team Canada (86 per cent)
Second Jill Officer, Team Canada (*-87 per cent)
Lead Dawn McEwen, Team Canada (90 per cent)
I wonder if that has ever happened before, where the whole team were first all-stars?
Second team:
Skip Chelsea Carey, Alberta (84 per cent)
Third Ashley Howard, Saskatchewan (84 per cent)
Second Liz Fyfe, Manitoba (87 per cent)
Lead Sarah Potts, Northern Ontario (87 per cent)

I am hoping Jones gets demolished in the semi. It is time to see a new winner. Carey winning is good for the game of curling, actually any but Jones winning is good for the game of curling. New blood and the hope that anyone can win is the best thing that could happen.
Nice to see TSN is showing other teams this year rather than focusing on just 2 or 3 teams.
Again that is great for the game.

Notice I said "fairly accurate". I got the play-off matches correct (no tie-breakers).
Being off on NS by one win is fairly accurate. 5 or 6 wins... whats the difference?

Dawn McEwen is always such a monster player. When was the last time she did not get first team all-star lead?
Does anyone think that she will ever play any other position after this team is done? I have seen her make some big weight hits while playing mixed doubles with Mike, so it's not like she can't hit.

The Winnipeg Sun's Cover today is "Rock Queens" with head shots of Kerri, Chelsea and Jen, leading to an unabashedly homer article boasting that three of four skips in Scotties playoffs learned the game on Manitoba ice. As a largely invisible province, we have to be loud and proud about the playoff representation this weekend.
Sure, Carey moved west, but that list is VERY long, and dotted with nonMB champions who did their Junior here, and whose parents supported the clubs here so their kids could excel then move to a, perhaps, less cluttered province. Even Heather, Kelly, oh, lots of them.
Just feeling happy. I'd like to see Kerri Flett dump Jen as retribution for the embarrassing rule debacle at the Selkirk MB Scotties a few years back.
So, am liking Chels for the hardware, but would not be surprised to see Kerri walk through. These women have known one another for years, facing each other in the MB Red and Black groups and countless other events since juniors.
Krista is the outsider, but TBay... yeah.. that's okay too.
Here is the link to the story:

Team Northern Ontario needs to play more offensive and make Kerri draw. Maybe being 2 down will force her to play that way now.

Manitoba did not have to pull the burnt rock, they could have placed it where they thought it should have been. It was clearly going to hit their rock, so they could have just said it was going to roll out. I hope that is what I would have done.
