Actually Tim, they get the TB bye and play the winner of RUS - SUI.

It was good to see the extra end on the WCF channel.

When a team makes a substitution they can completely change their rotation.

So I'm guessing when they switched out a front end player they switched around the rear end as well for some reason.

Congrats US. A chorus of USAs could be heard on TV after the final score was posted.

Do you Tet or anyone really know what the LSD was for the US vs. Latvia game back in draw 12? The stats page at http://wwcc2013.curlingevents.com/livescores messes that number up. When I first calculated the DSC, it looked like Russia would have the tiebreaker(!) but with a few more button clicks you realize that web page is not changing the value for the LSD when you choose that game.

Anyone know? I'm guessing it was less than 45 cm.

Better coverage in the Globe today, albeit on page 5 and a wire story. Tremendous shot of Rachel's intensity in delivering a stone. Story is a fair assessment of Canada's week and peppered with quotes by Earle Morris.

But to the G&M the big events now are hockey and March Madness. If they can send a reporter to Salt Lake City to cover Gonzaga (two Canadians on the squad) why can't they send a reporter to Riga to cover the world championship of the sport in which Canada excels? the story points out that Canada has 15 gold medals in the event, second is Sweden with eight.
