they play Canada later this evening, and should they 'upset' Murdoch well it will be just fine for Jacobs and the boys from the Sooooo. but seeing their playing in the 10 end with Scotland leading....

Obviously, injury first comes to mind!
However, YGD (Young Greg Drummond) is one of the finest natural thirds in the world while Tom Brewster is a natural skip. Perhaps the Scottish authorities had a sudden awakening and realized this!
More elaboration to come in approx. 10 minutes as I'm sure Inspector Victor will get to the bottom of the mystery!!!
Read in the daily event paper that sitting Brewster for that game was the plan all along as the Scottish coach plans to rotate everyone but Murdoch throughout the week.

Just looked at the linescores for the first time, and was surprised to discover that through the 14 games of the first 4 rounds, 8 games have been decided by a single point, 3 more were decided by only two points, while only 3 games have been decided by more than two points. While it's early in the week, those stats might suggest there is more parity at the Worlds than ever before...

Good observation, chapnlie. After tonight there will only be one undefeated team which may be another indicator of parity.

The commercials have spoiled attending games in person it would appear - based on the empty seats -- now even Tim Hortons are repeating the panini commercial enough that we miss the first three rocks of the end.
Must be a conspiracy to kill a good thing - the cca could leave out a few kids rocks commercials

Team Canada wins 3
Anyone else impressed with Canada's win tonight? Wonder if Tom Brewster is wishing he had control of the game tonight.

This team is definitely impressive. When they play like this they are as good as anyone. And if they win this week they are easily one of the four best teams in the world. Maybe three best.

Parity maybe for 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. After the win over the Scots I don't see any drama for first place.

Well i might have to retract my statement that they wont go 10-1 or something like that. I dodnt think they were that kind of team..they've always been up and down
however thwy will not go undefeated, that much is a certainty.

what disinterest ?
good point , but there are perhaps other reasons which might cause 'distraction" ...Victoria is a beautiful city to be a visitor in, and having lived there briefly in the 90's Brad and the boys from the Sooooo need to unwind somewhere besides I can recommend a decent pub downtown at the Strathcona Hotel, called 'BIG BAD JOHNS".... YEP just watch for the "falling spiders" at the bar....OH THIS IS NO APRIL FOOL'S JOKE EITHER hahah

There's no threat of disinterest but there will be the inevitable slack game, the off day. It happens to everyone. It happened to glenn howard last year v.s new zealnd, jeff stoughton against norway.
The only thing is that you dont want it to happen at the wrong like aka mark dacey 2004.

They still have 8 gruelling games left in the R-R and then at least two page games.
Perhaps three "gruelling" games. Enough to keep their competitive edge up, I hope.

Very impressive game up and down the lineup. EJ had an early brain fart end where he was searching for draw weight but came back strong. These guys can hit as good as any team for sure and showed the finesse game is spot on...at least in this game for sure. Brad seemed to ice them well and they pressured Scotland into making mistakes which they did. I look for them to keep focused and would not be surprised to see them get better as the week goes on.
By whipping Scotand, the other teams took notice that they are the real deal.

Surgery.
It was surgical precision from Jacob's crew. They were making run backs(especially Fry) that were leaving the TSN crew speechless & probably Scotland too. (Those Scots talk too much anyway).
Impressed? Why should we be they won the Brier by beating Gushe, Howard & Stoughton. Enough said.

If Jacobs wins this week, my top teams would be:
1) Martin
2) Howard (or you could say 1a)
3) Koe
4) Jacobs
5) ??
The consistency from Jacobs top to bottom will have gone to another level with a worlds and brier win. In terms of firepower/shotmaking that puts a scare into opponents, these would be my top teams. I may even move Jacobs to #3, but am hesitant to do so at this point from the sample size. Agree - Disagree?
