No outside-of-Canada streaming option, is there?
It looks like there's no way to legally stream these Sportsnet covered matches from outside of Canada. Or have I missed something?

hopefully no triple header commercials. - last week when i watched the subaru family load up at night and drive to the mountain top to see the amazing milky way , i said to the queen - " what a great commercial !!"
a week later they played it 3x in a row on jets or baseball game. - had seen it about 50 times by then - so we decided to pass on purchasing 2 of them
heres the deal advertisers - treat me like im not a moron and if its chicken, m&m, coffee , tissue , - ill buy your product from thurs - sunday
sorry , car dealers and capital one , you are outa my league
I would gladly pay a subscription fee to be able to watch their TV coverage online, but that's not an option they make available for anyone outside Canada, it seems. It's like they don't want my money.

Homan, Hasselborg , Carey off to 2-0 starts
thanks JONATHAN BRAZEAU
quote: Homan picked up a pair of victories to start her title defence at the tournament 2-0 wrapping up the evening action defeating Edmontons Kelsey Rocque 7-6 in an extra end.
Team Homan, who won seven tour events last year including three Pintys Grand Slam of Curling championships, have picked up where they left off. Homan has already earned two titles this season and is fresh off of capturing the Canad Inns Womens Classic this past Monday in Portage la Prairie, Man.
Swedens Anna Hasselborg also went 2-for-2 on Wednesday.
Following a sketchy steal in an extra over Winnipegs Kerri Einarson, Hasselborg held off Edmontons Val Sweeting 6-5.
Calgarys Chelsea Carey climbed to a 2-0 record edging Binia Feltscher of Switzerland in Draw 4 action Wednesday

Jacobs, Laycock top Men's standings
Both Men's Teams are at 2-0 while Shuster and Morris are winless at 0-2
A bit surprising the Scottish "puppies" Kyle Smith & Team
were able to beat Reid Carruthers who had a tough day at the office with a 57% shot accuracy
Top 8 teams make playoffs..

Is the ice inconsistent at Okotoks? There sure are a lot of low percentages, even leads are throwing 50-60 %

doesnt anyone else feel like this season is really weird right now? not so much with the men but for the women. so many top teams are just not curling well right now and struggling. even homan, who's won 2 events this year has looked human and not as good as past years. its like everyone is starting slow and just struggling to get into top form. your used to seeing it happen with one team but not so many all at once.
i mean..sidorova, paetz, tirinzoni, einarson, fujisawa, feltscher, jones, lawton. carey up until this event was struggling for wins. its just very weird right now

Yes, and Val Sweeting, too. Autumn, early-season slumps? Seem to be affecting so many..

EXCELLENT post ^^^^^
Very enjoyable and insightful read
Just FYI..Hasselborg IS repping Sweden at the Europeans...they are some fierce about proving they want to win everything in sight. Excellent hitters..that strong team-wide desire to win.!!
Steve Laycock has that brilliant SK curling savvy and if his young Team can execute ...
I was watching Glenn Howard's numbers and kept seeing some lower numbers for Rich Hart ta third.. maybe he still has those injury issues..the writing seems on the wall...
It is reasonably early in the season but we are seeing some of the oldies but gpodies show the rust in their games..
there are just way too many good.rising determined Teams now for any group to get complacent

No surprise w/ Sweeting given her level of play since getting bounced in Alberta by Carey last season.
Shuster is a gamer but caught up in too high a level of competition.
The Morris/Cotter Connection - huge surprise they couldn't even qualify for a rub spot.
Old Glenny put out of his misery by Jeff Stoughton's old lead, Mark Nichols who looked every bit a monster downing Howard - - - - Charley Thomas looked great @ 3rd, tremendous front end.
Laycock has been coming on strong last couple years - whether he's over the hump and able to tackle monsters like Koe, Jacobs, Gushue remains to be seen. Maybe we'll see this weekend?
Hasselborg almost seems like she's curling on a cloud. Effortless wins - Swedish authority might regret gifting Sigfridson the big spot at Euros.
Kim downing Homan a mild surprise - but when you drill under the stats you see Homan floundering at skip's percentage. Miskew curls near 98# but obviously Rachel was missing key shots.
Jones & Carey was really a discredit to women's curling. More of a miser's festival than a true exhibition of hi-level shooting. Although both Carey and JJ made superb shots to close out the festival.
If Jones flounders early like she did vs Carey against hi-octane opponents like Kim, Homan (when on), Hasselborg she'll be put out of her misery early and be shakin' forearms!
yeah, that jones v.s carey match was not good. if someone was watching womens curling for the first time that would have turned them off. of course we know both are much better but that match was the definition of winning ugly for jones.
and somehow i knew after carey missed her shot for 3 that she wasnt winning. jen managed to hang around long enough . jen made the game saving draw in the 5th end and from there the carey team fell apart and the mistakes just kept coming
muirhead being 0-2 is the surprise for me. and the frustrating part for her is that she really should be 2-0. she had relatively simple shots to beat both kim and paetz and missed them both. now she has to knock off rocque and homan to keep her hopes alive
its sad seeing glenn struggle like this but really the message should have been recieved at last years brier when he went 4-7. they still have moments of brilliance and they'll pick up the occasional win over a top team but they just arent at the level where they can expect to go deep and win a lot any more
jen herself struggling is understandable. she just got back into it not that long ago.

I can't help wondering if Wayne saw the writing on the wall and his injury gave him the perfect out to "retire". While its great that Glenn wants to keep playing he is going to need a fabulous team if he wants to beat Koe, Edin, Laycock even Morris. Right now that isn't happening. Few if any of Howard's peers are curling competitively...maybe time to move on?
Yes that Jones/Carey match was like watching the new curlers league on a Sunday afternoon. Sigh.

I watched one end of the Carey/Jones game and that was enough. Noticed that Dawn has slimmed down over the summer, looks really good.

Glenn has to get out of Ontario first, last year he sorta fell into the opportunity. I don't see him being strong enough to beat Epping.

So here's a list of the greatest skips currently a threat to win a Brier over the age
I'll start your list over 40
Glenn Howard
Pat Simmons
Jean Michel Menard
Kevin Koe
All 4 have previously and all 4 could again.

Sometimes one must know when to stop and hang them up. Stoughton knew when to hang them up. Howard isn't as sharp as he used to be in the last couple of years. Richard The Crutch Hart isn't much to cheer about for that matter.
