Continental Cup Teams
YTD WCT OOM Points as of 11/17 determine who from the USA will be on Team North America.
For the men, Shuster is a lock. As of right now he has 111.9, next closest is Craig Brown with 35.66. I'm pretty sure that it's mathematically impossible for any team to overtake Shuster, especially with them playing in The National next week.
As for the women, things could get interesting down the stretch here. Right now Erika Brown is in the lead with 92.26 points. Jamie Sinclair has 67.83, and Nina Roth trails with 25.16. All 3 teams are playing in Saskatoon this weekend, and Sinclair is playing in The National next week. Roth is pretty much out of the running, but I think Sinclair could technically overtake Brown, especially if she earns some points in Oshawa.
Personally, I don't think it's going to happen. I like both these teams, but Brown is having a hell of a season so far and seems to be gaining momentum while Sinclair has been up and down. I predict Brown will finish ahead of Sinclair this weekend and I don't think she'll be able to make up the difference in Oshawa.

Good,
I'm looking forward to seeing Shuster again in Vegas...and...frankly...he's demonstrating that he's the Best We Got.

That is great if Shuster is the men's rep for the US!
When we booked our tickets for the event I was really hoping it would be them. No disrespect for the rest but just wanted it to be them. I don't really have a preference for the ladies. Hopefully the other Cdn men's team will be either McEwen, Gushue, Koe, or Jacobs. Simmons team will need to bring their A game to this event.
Looking forward to our first trip to Vegas also......

I was at the Continental Cup when it was last in Vegas and both USA teams, I thought, played pretty well, and I was feeling upbeat about the Olympics (we all know how that ended). So if Shuster goes, I'm not too concerned. He's jumped through all the hoops the USCA/HPP has put forward, as has Erika Brown, so more power to them. If he can get the consistency up in pressure situations, he should do solid.

Well, Shuster & Sinclair both went 0-4 in Oshawa, which if I'm not mistaken means 0 OOM points for either team. I mean, unless you get something based on how/who you play and the depth of field, but even then it can't be more than a few.
Shuster was already a mathematic certainty, and Brown was well ahead of Sinclair, so I'm pretty sure it will be Shuster & Brown there in Vegas.
