pretty damn good. the skips appear to be the difference here
last end the swiss front 3 seemed bound and determined to give canada a steal and this end they are giving her every opportunity to get 2 or even 3

So many stupid mistakes were made in that game, by BOTH sides, Canada just made a lot more, it was cringe worthy.
Still, two wins tomorrow will put them in the 1/2 game with another chance to beat Patz.

nobody said these ladies world's would end up being a 'boring' finish did they? So M.L. is going out on a limb as he states I think Canada will have more hairy moments against Japan than with Germany

If all you did was read ML's posts, you'd think Canada was sitting in 11th place rather than at 7-2 with their own control of making the 1/2 game.

he is excessive but he has a point that they are not playing great and to be honest its a little shocking that jen hasnt gotten into form yet. they are 7-2 but havent looked good for a large number of those wins.
i know its all about peaking at the right time but i think it should be a little concerning that jen herself has never at any time looked consistantly confidant this week.
it wouldnt surprise me if she still won but its going to come ugly if it does and she still looks far more vulnerable here than i have ever seen her at a worlds...well with the exception of paisley

You provide some good information a number of times ML, but your comment that Jones must somehow cobble together a split in her final two games is laughable. She's playing Germany and Japan so she won't have to cobble together anything to win at least one (and likely both) games.
Jones has been very inconsistent. She seems more 'thrown off' by any sort of changing ice condition than she should. That said, she lost by only a point on a measurement to 8-1 Switzerland. She's totally in the driver's seat for the 1-2 game having beaten each of China, Scotland and Russia.

brilliant observation M.L. about the alleged "ice conditions" not being perfecto for J.J. cannot recall any one else saying same exists for them.....ask any good 'club curler' if they felt the ice is near to perfect HOW THEIR GAME WENT ?, my experience has been the keener, and consistent the ice is, my shots were better period

ogasawara has given jen really tight battles both times they have played so far so in my mind if she is off in that game that is the one of the final 2 she could lose.

I believe a split would almost assuredly get Canada a spot in the 1-2 game, because they beat all three 6-3 teams already. The only way I can think of that they split and are out of the 1-2 game would be a three way tie at the top between Canada, Switzerland and one of the other teams and even then, Canada would have to have the lowest draw to the button score.

Jennifer "Wallenda" Jones is the greatest hi-wire act in women's curling history. Of that there is no question!
But when she's baffled by ice conditions, also appearing to get tired or as Russ pointed out a sore right shoulder the last thing she should be doing is hi-wire curling (aka aggressive strategy based on ignoring opponent stones and playing in your own little world.
As seen more than a few time this week - even against a starter crews like Norway or Finland Jones will invariably ignore opponent stones (that don't threaten the 4 ft. anyways) and draw to corners. Great if the execution matches the strategy. But what if it doesn't?
She's in trouble. Cuz if you miss the draw (short, long or in double country) you give opponents an instant opportunity to lie 2 or 3 and torque up the pressure on you and your tee-called and your brushers. The best thing Germany or Japan can ask for is Jones NOT CHANGING her strategy - and being somewhat off in their execution. If that's the case Japan may have the shot-making power to hand Jones a loss. A Jones rink crippled by the ugly combo of aggressive strategy paired with terrible execution might even be capable of gifting a match to Germany. Highly unlikely but all the Germans need to do is take advantage of Jones & Co. prat-falling on their execution.
Personally, I don't think Jones will change one iota of her strategy. Just hope she can execute better.
Its also part of not having a real professional curling coach on the team. Just 2 or 3 team leaders (Wendy Morgan, Elaine Dagg-Jackson, etc.) but nobody able to provide Jones with an alternative voice. I'm sure if she's on the phone or skyping with Mr. Laing he'll bring some things up (if he doesn't fear consequences) but other than that JJ is on her lonesome!
Your understanding of curling strategy is non-existent, these posts of yours are extremely ignorant.
