Linda Moore Retires
http://www.bellmediapr.ca/Network/T...om-Broadcasting
Big news out of TSN. Linda Moore is retiring from the broadcast booth, citing a chronic health condition, and will be replaced with a roster of guest broadcasters for the 2014-15 season. Might be a chance to "audition" potential full-time replacements.
Any wish lists of who we'd like to see take a crack at it? Shannon Kleibrink and Cheryl Bernard are two candidates that immediately come to my mind...
Of course let's appreciate the fine work Linda has done with Ray, Vic and Russ for the last 25 years and wish her all the best for a healthy recovery.

I can hardly believe it First Ray in 2010 now Linda in 2014 Both were amazing analysts, helping me become more "curling smart" Linda and Ray and Vic made every commentary game sound like old pals just catching a game of curling. With Linda now retiring, I'm gonna miss that most of all.
Linda herself brought great insight from a coaching perspective and had amazing chemistry with whomever she worked with. I will definitely miss not seeing and hearing her voice on TSN!
I hope her health improves with the rest that she obviously needs

and when will vic rauter do the favor and retire?
on topic though im sad to hear this. linda was a great commentator , she added a lot to each broadcast and she will be missed.I wish her all the best
they need a good woman to take her spot. im guessing they might ask cathy gauthier or that one who works for sportsnet who's name i cant remember but who everyone on here hates so much. If they can get her though Id love to see cheryl bernard give it a try.

Linda
Too bad. She'll be missed a lot. Such insight into the game made watching television as good as being there. I sincerely hope that TSN doesn't bring on a chatty Cathy (I don't mean Gauthier, she's good). Thanks Linda for the years of broadcasting. I hope your health issues aren't serious. Regards.

Speak for yourself on Vic, the guys corny but that's why people like him. TSN will not be able to replace Linda, but hopefully its someone new who does.

I wonder about things, like, if we call an orange an "orange," then why don't we call a banana a "yellow" or an apple a "red"? Blueberries I understand, but will someone explain gooseberries to me?

1. Cathy Gauthier
2. Coco Jones (Colleen)
3. Maureen Bonar
4. Shannon K
5. Cathy O
6. Earle Morris
7. Jeanna Schraeder
Personally I'd hope for Maureen Bonar, Earle Morris or Shredder
No, NOT Colleen the Queen of Gum Chewing Jones! Anybody but her. Even the return of the Moose Turnbull is better.
I would add Jeff Stoughton to the list if he wasn't busy right now (or when he does retire). I'm sure TSN can find some younger gal and educate her about curling in a hurry (or even Leah Hextall would do :D )

my nightmare would be bringing on brian mudryk. i think they'' bring on a woman but they could opt for 3 guys and if they go with mudryk i'd have to watch with curling muted. hard enough listening to rauter

While Russ can certainly handle the strategy analysis during a game, I will miss Linda's great comments on team work, team dynamics, mental preparation and toughness as well as detailed statistical facts.
For that, she will be missed and hard to replace.

I think Bernard is an auspicious choice.
She's written "Between the Sheets" about building team dynamics and peak mental performance, so she has a lot of knowledge and expertise in that area to contribute.
Additionally, she's got a wicked sense of humour and a whip-smart personality. I can see her holding her own with Vic and Russ. She also has recent experience playing against many of the top women's teams so will be able to share much of that personal knowledge, just as Russ Howard, Kevin Martin and Richard Hart were able to do.
ML, did you hear the broadcast of the Portage WCT event that Maureen Bonar did the commentary for? I think the video's still up on youtube. Listen, and I doubt you'll want to hear more from her.

Cheryl Bernard
Now, here's a curler/speaker/author who will certainly be able to hold her own with Vic and Russ. She undoubtedly has great respect for Vic and Russ and is a very down to earth person. I would love to hear her commentating. She strikes me as a person who has great confidence and poise and would be a welcome edition. I hope that Cathy and Brian will still be doing the morning games. I like that combo as well.

Bernard seems like a good choice. I think Amber Holland could do a decent job too.
Best wishes to Linda Moore. She did bring a lot of coaching knowledge to the booth and had very good chemistry with her colleagues. She will be tough to replace.
