Well yes, but Jill Brothers did miss a pretty easy shot to win. Northern Ontario have been a bit fortunate to escape with wins in both their games. They'll need to pick up their game a bit as the week goes on, and I expect them to do just that.

That has got to be a confidence booster going into tonight's big match-up and the rest of the week.

I think a few Sportsnet ladies ( Joan McCusker..Jennifer Jones..Melissa Soligo) are better although I think Jennifer and Melissa have a advantage when they do commentary on SPortSnet they are the only commentator where Cheryl has to share commentating duties with Russ Howard and gots lost in the shuffle because Russ talks non stop.. And I dont understand the Cathy Gauthier hate on this site.. She is a better commentator than Cheryl but again she too is by herself and has freedom

Are you kidding me? Cathy has verbal diarrhea. At times, her analysis is totally wrong. Cheryl is concise and sees the difference in the men's and women's games. She is no parrot, but a skip who's been there. Yes, I don't like the morning crew at all. As for Russ, I'm a father too. It would be extremely hard to stay neutral in this situation.

I haven't been too impressed with some of the younger vices in this field so far.... In the 11th end of the NO/NS game Jill Brothers wasnt paying any attention to the input she was being given on one shot and looked annoyed and I don't blame her for ignoring her teammates.. Some of these young vices like a previous poster said in this thread are too bossy

That sort of discussion between team members should have been addressed at team meetings months ago. The coach needs to facilitate the discussion on all aspects of the game including how much input the skip wants, when to give it and how to gracefully shut up.

broadcasters

Who really cares? Put your TV on mute and watch curling if you don't like them. I am happy that TSN has provided coverage all these years and now adding an extra game. Don Cherry could be announcing for all I care...just happy to enjoy the games.

OKay I have to question Cathy Gauthiers eyesight..Cathy not all of the NO husbands and Dads were drinking beer lol can Cathy not tell the difference between a plastic beer glass and a Timmies coffee

Jen Jones is a marvelous curler. Has done a lot to bring women's curling up closer to the level that the men play at. And of course her record speaks volume at her shot making ability and her clutch performances.

That said......she really is a terrible line caller.

Maybe a freeze on the shot rock instead of guard with Jones last rock. You can't take away everything.

Chances are slim, but we can always hope. What happens if Team Canada gets relegated?

Why was Bryan Mudryck so stressed out about NO only having 20 to 30 seconds left on McCarvilles last rock...They had a timeout left

Apropos of nothing except my frustration at people missing the perfectly obvious.

Jen's shot in 9 was for 5 not 6. Hint....Whenever you play an in-off you lose the rock you come off. If they had said "Shot for six" one more time I think my head would have actually exploded.

As I said, apropos of nothing much. Still it makes it seems like these announcers are non-curlers.

1) I thought this was the last year for relegation?
2) Even if the 2016 version of TC finished last..whoever WINS the Scotties this year comes back as TEAM CANADA in 2017....And Jenny Jones has to go thru the Manitoba playdowns next year

Gauthier was the one who started the talk of 6 and would not stop repeating it. Mudryk was the one just going along and to my ear it was obvious that he simply didn't know better.

1. One more year of relegation
2. Team Canada would have to win out of the relegation round to participate in the main event.

That shot was never on. They were looking at throwing up weight and either hitting a sliver and taking out the NO rock or hitting it thicker and coming off the back of the one on the top of the four foot. Could not be done with anything but heat,

The TSN announcers are making it sound like it's a good thing and a skill to steal big multiple point ends. Think it has more to do with the brutal shot-making out there.

5 or 6 rocks is totally irrelevant . Seems to me the issue here is " Bryan/Cathy" bashing. I think they do a good job allowing me to enjoy the game.
