Steal of one for Jones. All tied up. Once again it's all about Jones. Standing on her head and keeping her team in it

As much as I do admire and respect Jens attitude I agree with Chelsey. Your team is struggling badly play simpler shots. Let Robertson try the hard ones.
IF they get out of this I think they will be having a serious talk

Robertson know's Jones's buttons. They have met countless times over the decades. Jones doesn't want to face the women she's pounced since Juniors, who are still waiting in the shadows to get their comeuppance. I can feel the smiles on the Robertson team. But now they have a tough Manitoba adversary in Englot - these women know each other well. Bad ice and good. Whoever wins, it will be completely different chemistry at the nationals. Maturity either way. Never a bad component. Tough women.

Certainly not playoff caliber curling that we expect to see in Manitoba. While one team has to win, iMo they played equally bad.

The downside of the Robertson win is for St. Catherines. I bet they were hoping for the fameDraw of TeamJ. TeamChelsea has done a great job as ambassador though, and it is good that the LimeLight will shine on a few others of our fantastic #WomenAthletes.

The Thirds
I wasn't familiar with Kate Cameron - but hey! She has a Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Cameron_(curler)
So, Karen Klein at 3rd for Robertson is a seasoned veteran. She has curled across Manitoba for years and in the Scotties. She knows how to get rid of cobwebs should they arrive on game day. Strong support for Robertson.
Kate Cameron, at third for Englot, is on the upward trajectory of her career. She has been runner-up a lot but has steadily moved forward onto stronger and stronger teams. Needs Englot.

I believe the support at St. Cath whether Jones is there or not doesn't change. The key to better support is Homan making it.

She gassed a draw to the 4 foot for the win. Heartbreaker, but when you play that type of defensive style you got to be prepared to make that draw for the win in 10.

How does the 1 - 9 favorite lose to a 99 - 1 shot?
It's easy if your Skip can't read the ice, can't draw the
eight foot, can't hit the broom with anything heavier than
hack weight and, tops it off with a stunningly outrageous 48%.

Veterans doing well everywhere . mattatal hasn't been to the scotties in a long time. Last time I can think of is when she curledwith Colleen and that was a long time ago
Seeing something similar in tennis with what went down at the Australian open
Wonder if we might see a veteran winning the scotties this year. Kleibrink , englot or maybe middaugh?

Re: Plenty of Shocks & Tremors this weekend:

I guess I'll have to rate them:
1. Michelle Englot - out of nowhere, a renowned Saskatchewan skip shows up in Manitoba and produces a tremendous well-earned Scotties win. At age 53, yet!
2. Stef Lawton bowing out quietly in Saskatchewan as she usually does at the national level. With a choke!
3. Jennifer Jones - showing little to no emotion - and an aimless Kaitlyn Lawes getting "Ronda Rouseyed" in Manitoba.
4. G.L. Ramsay putting up a serviceable fight in Alberta before succumbing to superior talent
5. Kerri Einarson - no fawn there! She was actually worse than fawns. So was Jones.
6. Shannon Birchard - so much promise, so little delivered. O well, there's always next year.
7. Finally, Jones chances at the Olympic Trials - based on what went down this weekend JJ certainly won't be the favourite next year. In fact, they were so dispirited and lifeless there's probably talk Kaitlyn Lawes departs before the Trials. I'd say its more like 40% she goes - 60% she stays. Even curling with a spent skip like Jones is better than not curling in the event period.
As an aside lots of comments about the poor job Charleswood CC and Curl Manitoba did in putting on the Scotties. Decent crowds but zero TV coverage until Sunday. Unacceptable on all accounts. Poor ice conditions certainly didn't help the pro teams like Jones and Einarson.
P.S. Englot kinda reminds me a bit of a cross between Mirjam Ott (somewhat shaky delivery) and Silvana Tirinzoni (dimunitive stature but great stick-to-it-ivness). Don't know if she can stand up to Sweeting (if she wins Alta.), Homan (if she wins Ont.) and McCarville (N.Ont winner) but she won't go down without a fight. She has a real nice group of fighters in front of her.
and again - Jennifer all star skip.

i felt bad for jen today. the only reason they lasted as long as they did is because of her. she stood on her head and generated everything by herself. like i said, it was jen v.s 7 other people out there today. and still, if not for a few bad misses at the worst time from her she could have won that game.
meanwhile in alberta shannon with a huge steal of 1 in 6 gives her a 4-2 lead over sweeting

And Shannon with a huge steal of 2 in 7. Up by 4 with 3 ends to go. Sweeting in a world of trouble
