I still don't receive e mails advising that someone has responded to a post that I've subscribed to. Gerry sent me a couple of e mails and suggested that "this is a glitch that will be addressed later". This has been going on since the new CZ format was introduced. Sooooo, a very long time.

For me everything was fine until I was stupid enough to go in and check the settings, now it won't save the settings and everything defaults to "no"

Same thing here and then I forgot password and sent 5 emails requesting a reset. Not a thing from Gerry. Finally guessed the right password.

No response by Gerry is telling about the direction this site is heading off to.

I think people just got fed up. Some of the posts were difficult to read but the solution to this problem was easy. Kinda sorry if this site closes but I guess with all the curling around that Gerry attends, one can't do two things properly. Too bad.

Would not be surprised if CZ were to shut down in the next few years. Why come here when I can get a much better/flexible product viewed by more eyeballs.
With the depth of social media (YouTube, Face Book, Instagram, Twitter, etc.,) why have a CZ? There was time when CZ, in-the-hack, Icing, curling.com and the TSN curling section (with it's popular chat room) were the absolute best...and it wasn't too long ago when those former sites reigned supreme. Not anymore when I can get instant video, chat and messaging all at the same time. It makes this site look outright antiquated.
I'd heard on the rumor mill (can anyone confirm) that Gerry sold this site to SN. Smart move if that's the case. I saw the writing on the wall years ago and imagined that sites like this were on borrowed time.

This site still has a lot to offer even though the chat has died. Where else can you go to get all the scores in one place? Where can you sign up to post scores and standings for virtually any bonspiel or play down you want? Where can you find most the curling blogs, has an active twitter feed and Facebook companion? News feed, video feeds, WCT point standings and team histories?
You can say it is dying but that is only the chat. That could probably be easily fixed but it isn't a priority now. That may change but quite honestly most posters have moved on.

I know I'm going "against the grain" for this site with this post but that does not matter to me.
First - The amount of posts is not important to me anymore. Seems like most posts are put out there as if the person is speaking for the majority of curlers. No you are only speaking for yourself sorry.
Secondly - the presentation of the results on the left hand side is now so much better. I could check results from so many events the last couple of weeks a lot faster that it used to be. I really like how when you select an event it keeps all the others up on the left hand side. It's awesome! I only use a desktop so for those who use only their phones I cannot relate to any issues.

I too am a desktopper for CZ, usually. Truthfully, I liked the compact view of the events. I find the full draw results a bit scrolly, but I am getting used to it. Sometimes the scores link fails, but that is kind of random. Usually it is okay.
Am glad to be back in the circle. It is kinda like FB, but for a different reason - 25 friends over and over - here, there's been a bit of a fade-away. But I agree, still functional. Thanks Gerry.
