Canadian Seniors-Pool tiebreaking

In the preliminary rounds there were nine teams total with records of 3-3 (3 in Pool A and 6 in Pool B).

Can someone enlighten me as to how they decided which of those tied teams advanced to the Championship Pool? I can find no record or tie-breakers on the website and there is no explanation of a system either.

I do hope that the draw to the button totals were not used. In a National Championship only actual tie-breaking games should be used.

One thing, this points out, again, the ridiculousness of the two pool round robin system. Teams with .500 records are being eliminated when in a single pool event they would still have plenty of time and opportunity to advance to playoffs.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
