Brier vs Hearts
It's interesting that the Hearts thread garnered about 117,000 page views on CZ vs the Brier thread that had only about 50,000 page views. Curious!

I know that out east, the time difference made a huge difference for the Brier. In NL, people had to stay up till 2am to see the "prime time" games. This could definitely curb people's enthusiasm.

That's why a PVR comes in very handy, you record it the night before and watch it first thing in the morning, without first checking the score I might add.
That is ideal for retired people or weekend viewing.

You are in for a treat with the worlds in Victoria then.

"Prime Time" Games
I'm retired, so game times mean little to me, but most of the guys I curl with are still working, and they only saw the first couple of ends of the "Prime Time" games, and worlds in Victoria and the Brier in Kamloops will be exactly the same. East of Ontario, few working people will be watching it.

Living in Toronto, I found the 8:30 EST evening draw starts manageable. But the ones that started at 9:30 EST were tough; I didn't make it through the end of many of those. Were the 9:30 EST starts done to accommodate TSN's hockey coverage?

Two word answer. Jennifer Jones. Love her or not so much nobody, and certainly nobody in the mens game, creates so much discussion.

Kept me up last night, pondering this one. Sure *Dino* could be the JJ factor, but something else is at play. Different Fan persona, maybe? Women's teams have more followers? <<just a wild guess>>.
Timing? Is the weather getting nice anywhere in this wild land?
The difference is safely DOUBLE for the women. Very worth analysis, and even speculation.
Maybe the CJones factor? KScott. There WERE lots of high profile women.. same for men, but maybe it just wasn't as *fait de complis* for the women.
Curious about other speculation. TY Statman

Statman- does the 50K include views on all other brier related threads that people started - ie how does it look for Keven, Man vs On etc etc. There seemed to be more than the usual number of these extra threads.

LOL! I don't think there are too many people who go to bed with K Marts picture taped to their pillow. I know at least one person who does with JJ's!
Nelskie's point is a good one. Not just the ongoing JJ saga, but the return of Colleen, what Nedohin will show up, and the cold, calculating eye of the tiger, no holds barred Team Homan, among other stories, made for a great week of chat and press. The mens was same old, same old, (except for the fall of Martin), until the surprise ending. (A postscript to that. I haven't been a great fan of team Jacobs, but I see them winning the Brier as a good thing. Shaking up the, let's face it, boring old boys club of four teams that have dominated for what seems forever.)
