2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts
The Scotties started tonight with the pre-qualifying competition that includes New Brunswick, NorthWest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut. Adams(NB) and Galusha(NWT) opened up with wins.
In the main field that starts off on Saturday, the favorites have to be Homan(ONT) and Carey(CANADA), who battle it out in an exciting Draw 1 matchup.
The champion will represent Canada at the Women's Worlds in Beijing in March.
It should be a great week!

games
if you scroll down on the curling page of the TSN site on the right hand side it says, Curling on TSN and tells you the draw number and game they will be showing. They only usually put one or two on there, and then add to it day to day.

Interesting to note that TSN has done away with the multi sheet coverage that they did last year.

Agree and coming after Vic and Glen have been drooling all game about how Homan has rounded out her game this year, She is still a one trick pony, Lives and dies by the take out game,

I was surprised at how off both Ontario and Canada looked to be honest. I know it's the first day and they are still learning the ice but I was expecting at least one of the teams to figure it out. Both teams just kept giving gifts back and forth which is unusual both ways. I don't think either team will continue to struggle like that throughout the tournament though. I just hope we don't see a ton of games like that this year!

also have to say it was great to see galusha get through the qualifying event. i would be upset if she lost in the final game for the 3rd year in a row
she should be dangerous

Did Rachel have a fairly basic shot to take the duke?
Only observations is that Carey is still the same somewhat misguided and stubborn Carey - she had ample opportunity to close out Rachel and couldn't produce.
Rachel is the same Xerox Lady she always was - and is! Notably more relaxed though - only big difference!
Some really putrid shooting by 3 girls - Rachel, Chelsea & Amy; often its zero or perhaps just one of them that has an off game. Unusual for ALL THREE!
she had a double for the win. wasnt exactly routine but it wasnt difficult either. carey actually made a really nice draw on her last its just unfortunate that where it stopped it set up a pretty simple double

The old adage - when you need to steal 1 - steal 1 and do everything you can to do so - don't place a rock in a position that actually makes things easier for your opponent!
Well, they really weren't planning on leaving hr a double.
It didn't matter where chelsey put her last, Rachel was gonna have a pretty makeable shot on her last either way.
Chelsey was trying to draw down to Rachel's shot rock back button. If we Mae it Rachel could have drawn to it or played an in off off her own to win. She was actually light on what she was trying to do. It was great shot and if hr other rock wasn't where it was it would have made rachels last considerably harder. Like is said , it's just unfortunate that where it's stopped it left a pretty simple double

I have told you before to set your PVR up for the Show that is on after the Scottie's, then you will never miss a thing.
So tape Scottie's and the next show. You won't miss a thing!

Yes you did, I remember. However, I'm battling PVR capacity as I've got nearly 2 seasons of my all-time favourite shows on PVR - ie. Person of Interest, The Blacklist and various PBS/CBC specials like Mavis Rivers. Also a who swack of The View to review.
Have you really got two seasons of Jennifer's curling games?

Watched the last 4 ends of Sask/Man game this morning. How in the world can the Sask vice be scored at 79%. I saw 3 complete misses in a row , 2 in one end, and 1st rock of the next. Last one was a draw to top 4 that was solid hack. Ridiculous

TSN screwed up the stats. Curling Canada shows the Sask vice at 53% for the game.
