Congratulations to Lobels!

My good buddy Steve and brother Rob Lobel have won the A side of their Ontario Zone and are headed to provincials! They are a team of wiley veterans and wear the underdog logo proudly. Kean and Epping went bang, bang, bang...bang, in the same zone. Steve asked me the odds of Kean and Epping getting ousted in 4 straight games and I believe it's likely less than 2%. Wow.

If I'm not mistaken, Howard gets a direct entry into provincial being last years winner therefore doesn't have to go through playdowns.

Perhaps. But it's higher than Eppings. Also, they made it to the final four one year if I'm not mistaken. Stranger things have happened. Martin had a quarter of a percent chance to go 2-0 on Tuesday at the Trials (2 down without hammer in 8 against Koe and 3 down to Howard in 9)

My mistake. Still a chance for Kean and Epping through Challenge round. Thought they had done away with that.

I was living in Toronto (playing with Lobels) the year Werenich beat Middaugh two straight in challenge round then won the province. It was his last purple heart.

Good times.

We were chatting about it Saturday afternoon in Lakefield and were thinking more in the range of a tenth of one percent (1000 to 1)
